Norvento leads R&D project ARTECH whose objective is to develop technologies to allow the use of clean energy in isolated areas with extremely cold weather. The focus of the project is to adapt medium-range wind technology to these regions where lack of infrastructure make the use of large wind turbines impossible and sun irradiation is not enough to use solar panels. The ARTECH project is carried out in Galicia in collaboration with the companies Elinsa and Temha. The project has been subsidized by the Spanish Centre for the Industrial Technology Development (CDTI) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), so it was supported by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. It has been one of the projects chosen by CDTI in the last edition of the programme INNTERCONECTA 2016. The project will be executed between February 2017 and April 2019, with a budget of €1,471,237.
Among the tasks led by Norvento, it can be highlighted the development of a blade with passive and active anti-ice protection.
