Energy Cybersecurity

Interview with Ana Ayerbe

In September we will focus on Cybersecurity, more specifically on its relationship with energy and electricity generation and control facilities. Our colleague Martín Pardo interviews Ana Ayerbe, president of RENIC – Spanish Network of Centres of Excellence in Cybersecurity Research and director of the CORES DIGITALES Area at TECNALIA. Together with her, we will explore and develop the challenges of the sector in the present and its immediate future, touching on topics ranging from blockchain to quantum computing and artificial intelligence.

Ana Ayerbe Fernández-Cuesta

Ana holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Deusto. Master in Robotics and Automation from the School of Engineering and Telecommunications of Bilbao and Expert in Business and Technology Management from Deusto Business School.

She is president of RENIC – Spanish Network of Centres of Excellence in Cybersecurity Research and director of the CORES DIGITALES Area at TECNALIA where technologies such as Industrial Cybersecurity and Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, High Performance Architectures, Visual Technologies and Software Technologies are addressed. She currently participates as an expert in the National Cybersecurity Forum, and is a member of the Advisory Committee of CyberZaintza (Basque Cybersecurity Agency).

Ana is also a member of the Board of Directors of the European Cybersecurity Platform ECSO (European Cybersecurity Organisation), member of the Council of the WOMEN4CYBER initiative and founding member of its Spanish chapter. She has previously been a member of ENISA’s SCCG (Stakeholder Cybersecurity Certification Group).
