Green hydrogen generation| Interview to Javier Brey

We continue with our 2021 editorial line on past & present disruptors and their influence in the present of energy. This month, we dedicate our post to the generation of green hydrogen and the future of its use and application.

To address this issue, we have invited Javier Brey, president of AeH2 (Spanish Hydrogen Association) and our colleague Helena Peñas, project engineer in the Biogas team of Norvento Enerxía.

Javier Brey

Javier Brey is an Engineer from the University of Seville, and a Doctor from the Pablo de Olavide University, of Seville; he did his doctoral thesis on Hydrogen Economics.

In 1998 he began his professional career in the field of hydrogen and fuel cells at the Abengoa company. In 2016, he left Abengoa to create and lead H2B2, a technology company focused on the clean production of hydrogen through polymer electrolysis.

He is President of the Spanish Hydrogen Association (AeH2), Vice President of the European Hydrogen Association (EHA), Vice President of the Spanish Fuel Cell Association (Appice) and Secretary of the Spanish Technological Platform for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells (PTE-HPC).

He is an Associate Professor at the Universidad Loyola Andalucía, where he teaches students the advantages of the Hydrogen Economy.
