neFO, our zero-emission manufacturing centre at the European forefront

A cutting-edge factory producing pioneering solutions for energy and technological independence

Our solutions are beyond current commercial and technological standards: wind turbines for self-consumption and repowering of wind farms, advanced battery storage equipment and next-generation power electronics converters. All without renouncing sustainability: zero emissions and circular economy as a basis. Norvento Enerxía Factory Zero -neFO- will represent a new production model and expects to comply with the outstanding level of BREEAM standards.

This project is endowed with 27.5 million euros by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) and is funded by the European Innovation Fund under the ‘Innovation Fund 2023 Net Zero Technologies (InnovFund – 2023 – NZT)’ call in the category ‘InnovFund – 2023 – NZT – Manufacturing – Clean-tech manufacturing’.

Economic and social impact of the neFO project

Behind innovation, people: more than 700 jobs created

The neFO project is expected to multiply purchases from local and regional suppliers, strengthening the supply chain at the Galician level, as well as improving educational initiatives for the development of specific skills in the sector.

• 303 direct jobs with high value added.
• 237 indirect jobs between 2024 and 2027.
• 84 induced jobs, about 25% of indirect employment.
• x10 in purchase of production from local suppliers over the long term.

We foster the competitiveness and self-sufficiency of European industry through product innovation and by promoting the local supply chain.

Technological impact that benefits the environment

Our neFO project closes the innovation cycle, providing the framework for the manufacture of a series of cutting-edge, carbon-neutral technological products. Moreover, neFO will be powered by a DC system that will employ the most advanced innovations to make it a self-sufficient, zero-emission factory using renewable energy:

• Photovoltaic power supply.
• Storage units through a zero-energy system.
• We supplement the demand with renewable sources from our own facilities.

187,000 tonnes of CO₂ will be avoided annually

Equivalent to 1.8 million tonnes of CO₂ reduced in its first ten years. The equivalent of planting 180 million trees.
