Norvento Enerxía, a Galician company expert in renewable energy generation, will deploy for Extrugasa, world leader in aluminum extrusion, a photovoltaic self-consumption installation of 2.2 MWp of power. This is the largest photovoltaic self-consumption installation of these characteristics installed in Galicia to date and one of the largest in the whole country. In this way, Extrugasa will advance in its sustainability strategy through the commitment to generate energy in an efficient and sustainable way by means of renewable sources.
The project will allow Extrugasa to satisfy up to 25% of the energy demand of its facilities through renewable sources generated on site, and will have a positive environmental impact similar to that of planting around 93,000 trees in the area, as it will prevent the emission of 932 tons of CO2 equivalent per year into the atmosphere.
The installation will also serve as a basis for future projects aimed at energy self-consumption for Extrugasa, since it will allow the company to combine this installation with energy storage systems.
