Norvento reaffirms its commitment to young people and sustainability at the Fundación Princesa de Girona’s Tour del Talento stop in Leon

• For the third year in a row, the Galician company is collaborating with the Tour del Talento, an initiative that offers young people the chance to access professional development opportunities in different cities in Spain, with a special focus on its stop in León, from 7^th to 11^th April.

• The company began this collaboration last Monday with its participation in the Generation Talent Forum, where Norvento’s Director of Talent, Rosa Botas, took part in a round table discussion on the skills demanded by companies in the current context, promoting the professional growth of young people.

• The company’s factory manager, José Ignacio Montemayor, presented the employment and sustainability benefits of Norvento’s main corporate project, the self-sufficient and zero-emission factory neFO, supported by the European Commission’s European Innovation Fund, at a round table on Industry 5.0 organised by the Federación Leonesa de Empresarios.

• In addition, today the company hosted a visit to the facilities at its CIne headquarters by students of Electrical Engineering from the University of A Coruña – Ferrol Campus and Industrial Chemical Engineering from the USC – Lugo Campus, to learn more about Norvento’s activities and its training and talent offer.

For the third year in a row, Norvento has collaborated with the Tour del Talento, an initiative launched by the Fundación Proncesa de Girona to connect young people with opportunities for personal and professional development. This event, which tours five Spanish cities each year, includes activities such as conferences, workshops, exhibitions and shows, where collaborating companies such as Norvento, share their experience and knowledge with the young people attending.

The main objective of the Galician company’s participation is to make young people aware of all the future opportunities available, especially in the field of technology, and more specifically in the renewable energy sector, thus promoting knowledge and exploring new professional prospects.

Last Monday, Norvento’s Director of Talent, Rosa Botas, together with representatives from Vertex Bioenergy and the Renault Foundation participated in the Talent Forum, a meeting point for young university students, Higher Professional Education students and those who have already started their careers. During this meeting, Norvento’s head of talent shared her professional vision and her experience from a business perspective with the young people present, providing them with information on how to approach their professional future.

On Thursday 10th April, Norvento was also present at the ExpoLeóni4.0 Fair, a forum held at the University of León that aimed to connect the most cutting-edge companies in the province with the best talent in the field of Industry 4.0, and where Norvento presented its training and talent offer to the students attending.

neFO, a chance for new talents

This year’s Tour del Talento is particularly significant for Norvento as its company’s flagship project, the self-sufficient, zero-emission neFO factory, supported by the European Commission’s European Innovation Fund, is on the horizon. This new facility not only represents a major breakthrough for the company, but will also open up new job opportunities and provide young people with an excellent chance to enter the industry.

So much so that last Thursday, the head of Factory at Norvento, José Ignacio Montemayor, attended a round table organised by the Federación Leonesa de Empresarios (FELE) , to present the employment and sustainability benefits that the neFO project will generate: the creation of more than 500 direct, indirect and induced jobs and that it will avoid the annual emission of 187,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year once it is operational.

Also today, a group of Electrical Engineering students from the University of A Coruña – Ferrol Campus and Industrial Chemical Engineering students from the University of Santiago de Compostela – Lugo Campus, visited Norvento’s CIne headquarters–, in a tour aimed at showing the students the latest innovations in energy and renewable technologies that Norvento’s facilities have, as well as highlighting the neFO project, its promotion of talent and industrialisation in Galicia.

Norvento’s collaboration with the Tour del Talento reaffirms its strong commitment to the future of young people and the development of essential skills that will enable them to meet the challenges of today’s labour market.
