Our nXL converters, the optimal solution for your large-scale projects

Designed with a multi-purpose vocation, nXL converters can function as a bi-directional interface between the grid and battery-based energy storage systems (BESS), large photovoltaic (PV) plants, electrolysers for the production of green Hydrogen (H₂) and to facilitate the supply of electrical energy to large ships during their stay in ports (OPS). In addition, they also have the capability to operate as pure STATCOM, active filter and integrate into railway catenaries for energy management.

Developed by Norvento TECHnPower’s Power Electronics unit, a team with more than 20 years of experience in the design of medium and high power converters for on-shore and off-shore multi-MW wind turbines, BESS, central PV and traction, the nXL range of equipment represents a technological leap forward towards the highest power and most compact range of converters worldwide in the renewable and industrial sectors.

Internally, nXL is based on two identical and independent systems working in parallel. In case of a failure of one of them, the other continues to operate smoothly.

Use in the world’s most extreme environments

Thanks to its watertight cooling system, the nXL inverter series can be used in desert areas, highly corrosive coastal regions and environments with very low temperatures, and areas containing conductive particles in the air, such as mines and volcanic sites.

Minimal maintenance

All air filters have been eliminated, allowing the new equipment to have minimal maintenance requirements.

Compact solution

Up to 40 °C and 2000 m without derating. Derating from 40° C due to the MV transformer only.

Simple, safe and efficient installation

Designed for easy field placement, all heavy components of this new converter family are mounted on removable trays with bearings or on telescopic slides. Designed for high availability with an optimised MTTR.

Compliance with an extensive list of grid codes

Including the most demanding ones worldwide, such as those in Germany, Australia, South Africa and the USA. All this thanks to Norvento TECHnPower’s nCCU control platform, designed to efficiently manage the new high-voltage Full-SiC semiconductor modules on the market that require the highest processing speed.

Designed by Norvento TECHnPower, it provides full IP65 protection to the system through liquid cooling of key components and internal recirculation of cold air, with no exchange with the outside.
