The subsidy received will allow Norvento to carry out projects related to the use of electric vehicles and fuel cells in such a way as to achieve a reduction in final energy consumption and, as a consequence, less energy dependence on oil and a reduction in CO2 emissions.
The grants object of this call have their fit in the Program of incentives for efficient and sustainable mobility (MOVES II program) approved by Royal Decree 569/2020, of June 16, in order to establish the regulatory bases for the granting of Aid for actions to support mobility based on criteria of energy efficiency, sustainability and promotion of alternative energies, to contribute to the decarbonisation of the transport sector and the achievement of the objectives set by the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan 2021-2030 .
The entity responsible for the execution of the MOVES II program in the Autonomous Community of Galicia will be the Galician Energy Institute (Inega). Among the basic objectives of Inega are the promotion of initiatives and programs for the application of energy technologies, including renewables, the improvement of energy saving and efficiency, the promotion of the rational use of energy and, in general, the optimal management of energy resources in the different economic sectors of Galicia.
The Agency has among its functions, in accordance with the provisions of article 8 of Decree 142/2016, of September 22, which modifies the regulatory standards of the Galician Energy Institute, and approves the statutes of the Institute Agency Energy Agency of Galicia, the following functions:
a) Prepare and propose energy plans and programs to the Ministry responsible for energy.
b) Promote and, where appropriate, execute the plans and programs indicated, approved by the Ministry responsible for energy.
c) Propose the preparation of provisions for the establishment, development and management of energy policies.
d) Develop programs to rationalize the use of energy and promote the use of energy resources.
