Norvento leads the MICROGRID-ON-CHIP research project, which consists of a battery inverter with integrated converter and microgrid control. The objective of the project is to develop an integrated solution for the control of hybrid microgrids based on a battery converter with state-of-the-art semiconductors, as well as a microgrid control system integrated into the converter itself. This solution is part of Norvento’s technological development plans and its development requires the experience of the GEISER research group, set up by the University of Alcalá de Henares and the IMDEA Energía Institute.
The project, whose reference is RTC-2017-6262-3, will be financed by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities and the State Research Agency (AEI), and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), under the call 2017 CHALLENGES – COLLABORATION, whose objective is to support projects in cooperation between companies and research organisations, in order to promote the development of new technologies, the application of new ideas and techniques to business, and contribute to the creation of new products and services.
